| Pyk2 is a protein tyrosine kinase related to Focal Adhesion Kinase (p125 FAK). Pyk2 is highly expressed in the central nervous system. It is phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in response to various stimuli that elevate intracellular calcium concentration, as well as by protein kinase C activation. |

| Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detected Pyk2 in mouse brain cytosolic RIPA lysates. Lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with P9400. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit (HRP) secondary antibody and a chemiluminescence detection system. Pyk2 has a MW of approximately 116kD as calculated from the amino acid sequence deduced from the complete human cDNA. |
