RANTES is a CC-chemokine that can signal through the CCR1, CCR3, CCR5 and US28 (cytomegalovirus receptor) receptors. It is a chemoattractant towards monocytes, memory T cells (CD4+/CD45RO), basophils, and eosinophils. RANTES also has the capability to inhibit certain strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV).
Recombinant human RANTES is a 7.8kD protein containing 68 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC-chemokines.

Monocytes
Concentration Range for most in vitro applications
0.2-20ng/ml
Reconstitution
Lyophilized RANTES is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. Reconstitute in sterile dH2O to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into buffer containing carrier protein or medium containing serum.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute by adding sterile dH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
