| Ras-GTPase-activating protein SH3-domain-binding protein; GAP binding protein; RasGAP-associated endoribonuclease G3BP: This protein is one of the DNA-unwinding enzymes which prefers partially unwound 3'-tailed substrates and can also unwind partial RNA/DNA and RNA/RNA duplexes in an ATP-dependent fashion. This enzyme is a member of the heterogeneous nuclear RNA-binding proteins and is also an element of the Ras signal transduction pathway. It binds specifically to the Ras-GTPase-activating protein by associating with its SH3 domain. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. | | | Catalog # | R1198-13N | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | | | Western Blot: 1:1000-1:3000 for detection of the full-length protein; 1:100-1:300 for detection of the caspase-generated fragments. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Recombinant fusion protein corresponding to aa158-455 (fragment N2) of human RasGAP (Ras-specific GTPase-activating protein). | | Specificity | Recognizes human full-length RasGAP as well as the N-terminal fragment (that comprises SH2 and SH3 domains) generated by caspase cleavage (fragments N and N2). Does not cross-react with other GAP proteins. Species crossreactivity: mouse, rat. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
