| Resistin, otherwise known as adipose tissue-specific secretory factor, an adipose-derived hormone and member of the resistin/FIZZ family, implicated as a suppressor of the ability of insulin to reduce blood sugar, and to play a role in type 2 diabetes and obesity. Studies have shown that resistin is involved in an increase in the transcription/expression of many pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1,-6 and -12, and also upregulates vascular cell-adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2). | | | Catalog # | R1585-21J | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 0.25-1ug/ml | | Western Blotting: 0.1-0.2ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | ~0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, pH7.2.
