RNAPII is an essential component of the RNAP II transcription elongation complex. Recruitment of RNA processing factors to the elongation complex is coordinated by the phosphorylation of Serine-2 and Serine-5 residues within the C-terminal repeat (YSPTSPS) domain of the largest subunit of RNAPII. CTD4H8 can also be used in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

SpecificityThis antibody recognizes the C-terminal repeat of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, it recognizes both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human, S. cerevisiae. Expected to crossreact with Drosophilia melanogaster, Hamster, Mouse, S. pombe, Arabidopsis thaliana due to sequence homology - all of these species contain at least one or more 100% identical repeats.
