| Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of mast cells. SCF also mediates cell-cell adhesion and acts synergistically with other cytokines. The actions of SCF are exerted by binding to the SCF Receptor (PE-1243-50) which results in receptor dimerization. SCF is a type I membrane glycoprotein with 5 potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Soluble SCF is produced by proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain. | | | Catalog # | S0400-09 | | Source | DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and the mature Stem Cell Factor (SCF) protein of human SCF was expressed in modified human 293 cells. | | Biological. Unmodified SCF has a predicted molecular mass of 21.0kD. SCF separates into a number of isoforms with a pI between 3.0 and 7.0 in 2D PAGE due to post-translational modifications. This compares with the unmodified SCF with a predicted pI of 5.76. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C.
