Polyclonal Goat Affinity Purified B
SMAD2 protein (also known as MADH2) is a transcriptional modulator activated by TGF beta. It is found at high levels in skeletal muscle, heart and placenta. SMAD2 exists in isoforms, a predominant long form and a short form missing the 30 amino acid exon 3. The short form shows DNA binding and higher transcriptional activation activity. SMAD2 may act as a tumor suppressor in colorectal carcinoma.
