| SMAD3 is a 50kD transcriptional modulator activated by TGF-beta and activin type 1 receptor kinase. SMAD3 functions in cell proliferation, differentiation and development. Upon stimulation, SMAD3 oligomerizes with SMAD4 and translocates into the nucleus where it binds to DNA and transcription factors.
