This gene encodes a member of the Snail family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors. The encoded protein acts as a transcriptional repressor that binds to E-box motifs and is also likely to repress E-cadherin transcription in breast carcinoma. This protein is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transitions and has antiapoptotic activity. Mutations in this gene may be associated with sporatic cases of neural tube defects.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsImmunohistochemistry (FFPE): 2.5ug/ml. Requires heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml
Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
