| SNAP 25 (synaptosome-associated protein of 25kD) is a SNAP (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion (NSF) attachment protein) receptor (SNARE-related protein) which is tightly associated with the plasma membrane by means of the palmitoylation of a cluster of cysteine residues with its structure. SNAP 25 is specifically cleaved close to the carboxyl terminal by the botulinum neurotoxins (BoNT) A and E which are known to inhibit neurotransmitter release. Similar inhibitory effects of BoNT/A and E have been recorded for non-neuronal secretory cells, such as adrenal medulla, This leads to the identification of SNAP 25 in SNARE-like complexes precipitated from chromaffin cells. | | | Catalog # | S1014-73C | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
