| SSTR4 is a Somatostatin Receptor for somatostatin-14. This receptor is involved in arachidonate release and in the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase cascade. SSTR4 mediates the antiproliferative action of somatostatin in tumor cells. SSTR4 has been reported to be expressed in brain, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and prostate tissues.
