| Superoxide dismutases (SOD) are found in all aerobic organisms. Their physiological function appears to be to protect cells from free radicals by scavenging superoxide anions. They catalyse the dismutation of superoxide anions to oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. SOD(Mn) is located primarily in mitrochondria and is thought to be of prokaryote origin. SOD(Mn) is a tetramer of identical subunits of MW 25kD by SDS-PAGE. | | | Catalog # | S8060-10S | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
