Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified B IP IH IC
Syk, a protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) is expressed in immature T cells, all B cells, basophils, hepatocytes, platelets and erythrocytes. It functions in some T cell receptor signalling processes in addition to B cell receptor and integrin-mediated signal transduction processes. Syk interacts with immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) located in the cytoplasmic domains of immune receptors. It couples the activated immunoreceptors to downstream signaling events that mediate diverse cellular responses, including proliferation, differentiation and phagocytosis. There is also evidence of a role for Syk in nonimmune cells, and Syk is a potential tumor suppressor in human breast carcinomas.
