Chemokine receptors are specialized proteins that function at the surface of cells, and enable chemokines to trigger internal cellular processes. Chemokines and their receptors play a pivotal role in lymphocyte trafficking, recruiting and recirculation. Chemokines act through seven transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors. The chemokine system is increasingly recognized to play an important role in lymphocyte biology.

ELISA	Antibody titers and specificity were analyzed by ELISA assay using control samples (varying concentration of GST-EPOr) and control anti GST antibody. Affinity purified antibody was found to detect EPOr at concentrations of 50 ng/ml. Neutralization of ligand binding has been detected using Erytholukemia cell line TF-1 (3000 EPO receptors/cell) to block Iodine-labeled erythropoietin ligand binding. Western blot concentration used 10 ug/ml. It will recognize EPOr-GST at its migration of 49 kD on SDS-PAGE. Good secondary anti-sheep reagents are essential for this assay. Recommended use of rabbit anti-sheep rather than donkey anti-sheep antibodies as a secondary labeling reagents.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity	Binds to a 36-40kD protein in normal tissues mouse lung and heart. Larger size band approx. 40-45 Kd were seen in human tumor cell lines e.g. T cell line Jurkatt and K562 cells. Crossreacts to mouse p36 and human.
