Thiamin is one of the B vitamins, a group of water-soluble vitamins that are part of many of the chemical reactions in the body. Thiamin (vitamin B1) helps the body's cells convert carbohydrates into energy. It is also essential for the functioning of the heart, muscles, and nervous system.

Applications	Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:1000. Immunoreactive fibers located in the pulvinar nucleus of monkey brain. Also, immunoreactive fibers located between the pulvinar and caudate nucleus of monkey brain.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Specificity	Using a conjugate Thiamine-protein carrier (BSA), antibody specificity was performed with an ELISA test by competition experiments with the following compounds :

(a)	Thiamine-BSA concentration/unconjugated or conjugated compound concentration at half displacement.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
