| TPMT (thiopurine S-methyltransferase) is an enzyme that catalyzes the S-methylation of aromatic and heterocyclic sulfhydryl compounds, including the immunosuppressant azathioprine (AZA) and the antineoplastic agents 6-mercaptopurine (6MP) and 6-thioguanine (6TG). This enzyme is also involved in the normal metabolic inactivation of thiopurine drugs. Patients with intermediate or no TPMT activity are at risk of toxicity after receiving standard doses of thiopurine drugs. | | | Catalog # | T5009-95A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 0.05-0.2ug/ml | | Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute by adding sterile sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20ºC. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide from amino terminal of human TPMT protein (Swiss Prot: P51580).(KLH coupled) | | Specificity | Recognizes human TPMT protein. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
