| Thrombospondin is a protein from platelet a-granules. It is made up of three identical subunits bound by interchain disulfides. It is secreted at sites of platelet activation and aggregation and is involved in the processes of chemotaxis, adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of leukocytes, fibroblasts, smooth muscle and endothelial cells. | | | Catalog # | T5100-06J | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Western Blot: Non-reducing conditions. Do not use reducing conditions agents such as DTT or BME. | | ELISA: 1:1000 This concentration was determined using thrombin-induced platelet releasate as the coat (1:250 dilution of releasate from 1 unit of thrombocyte concentrate/ml of PBS) | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 9F209 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not Determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Ascites | | Immunogen | Thrombin induced platelet releasate (Human). | | Specificity | Recognizes human Thrombospondin. Does not crossreact with human thrombin, fibrinogen, fibronectin, laminin or serum albumin. Crossreactivity with fetal calf serum has been observed, therefore the presence of fetal calf serum in an assay system may interfere with antibody activity. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
