| TFPI-2 (tissue factor pathway inhibitor-2; also placental protein 5/PP5) is a secreted, presumably 27-34kD glycoprotein member of the Kunitz domain-containing proteinase inhibitor family. In mouse, it is principally produced by endothelium, hepatocytes and synctiotrophoblasts, and serves as an inhibitor of multiple serine proteinases. Mature mouse TFPI-2 is 208aa in length. It contains three Kunitz inhibitor domains, the most N-terminal of which (aa36-86) is crucial to inhibitor activity.
