| Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are signaling molecules that recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses (1-3). These proteins act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate various kinases and transcription factors such as Protein Kinase C (PKC) alpha/beta and NF-kB (4-6). Studies with TLR4-deficient mice indicate that the main ligand for TLR is lipopolysaccharide. Consequently, these mice also showed increased susceptibility to Gram negative sepsis (7). | | | Catalog # | T8050-32 | | Applications | Can be used for detection of TLR4 by Western blot at 2-5ug/ml. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Ion Exchange chromatography. | | Immunogen | Raised against a peptide corresponding to 15 amino acids near the amino-terminus of human TLR4 (GenBank accession no. NP_612566) | | Specificity | Recognizes human TLR4. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
