Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Purified B IP IH FC IF
Human embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells are the stem cells of teratocarcinomas, and they are key components of germ cell tumors (GCTs). Embryonal carcinoma, as do all human pluripotent stem cells, expresses TRA-1-60 and TRA-1-81 antigens, and although their molecular identities are unknown, they are commonly used as markers of undifferentiated pluripotent human stem cells.

SpecificityRecognizes TRA-1-81 antigen at 420/250kD that is expressed on the surface of human teratocarcinoma stem cells (EC), human embryonic germ cells (EG) and human embryonic stem cells (ES). No immunoreactivity is seen with mouse EC, EG or ES cells. Recognizes antigens that are associated with a pericellular matrix proteoglycan. Reacts with an uknown epitope of a sialidase-sensitive molecule.
