| Human embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells are the stem cells of teratocarcinomas, and they are key components of germ cell tumors (GCTs). Embryonal carcinoma, as do all human pluripotent stem cells, expresses TRA-1-60 and TRA-1-81 antigens, and although their molecular identities are unknown, they are commonly used as markers of undifferentiated pluripotent human stem cells. | | | Catalog # | T8115-10 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Flow Cytometry: 10-20ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Control | Human embryonic stem cells | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgM | | Clone No | 5C3 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 8.0, 0.05% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation | | Immunogen | Human embryonal carcinoma cell line 2102Ep | | Specificity | Recognizes TRA-1-81 antigen at 420/250kD that is expressed on the surface of human teratocarcinoma stem cells (EC), human embryonic germ cells (EG) and human embryonic stem cells (ES). No immunoreactivity is seen with mouse EC, EG or ES cells. Recognizes antigens that are associated with a pericellular matrix proteoglycan. Reacts with an uknown epitope of a sialidase-sensitive molecule. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
