| Troponin, working in conjunction with tropomyosin, functions as a molecular switch, regulating muscle contraction in response to changes in the intracellular Ca2+ concentration. Troponin consists of three subunits, the Ca2+-binding subunit troponin C (TnC), the tropomyosin-binding subunit troponin T (TnT), and the inhibitory subunit troponin I (TnI). Troponin I binds to actin in thin myofilaments to hold the actin-tropomyosin complex in place, because of which myosin cannot bind to actin in relaxed muscle. When Calcium binds to the Troponin C it causes certain confomational changes which leads to dislocation of troponin I. The letter “I” is given due to its inhibitory character. | | | Catalog # | T8665-15R | | Kit Components | T8665-15R1: 0ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R2: 0.48ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R3: 0.85ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R4: 3.0ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R5: 10.9ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R6: 50.7ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | T8665-15R7: 98.5ng/ml cardiac troponin I. | | Applications | Cardiac troponin I calibrator set is intended for use as a reference and control material in laboratory immunoassay of human cardiac troponin I. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | Precautions | Calibrators contain human blood components. As all blood derivatives should be considered as potentially infectious, it is recommended that these reagents be handled using established good laboratory working practices. | | CAS Number | 77108-40-8 | | Source | Human cardiac muscle | | Purity | Purified from human cardiac muscle | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder from a solution of human native troponin complex in normal human serum, containing stabilizers. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
