Monoclonal Mouse Ascites E B
Beta III tubulin is abundant in the central and peripheral nervous systems (CNS and PNS) where it is prominently expressed during fetal and postnatal development. As exemplified in cerebellar and sympathoadrenal neurogenesis, the distribution of beta III is neuron-associated, exhibiting distinct temporospatial gradients according to the regional neuroepithelia of origin. However, transient expression of this protein is also present in the subventricular zones of the CNS comprising putative neuronal- and/or glial precursor cells, as well as in Kulchitsky neuroendocrine cells of the fetal respiratory epithelium. This temporally restricted, potentially non-neuronal expression may have implications in the identification of presumptive neurons derived from embryonic stem cells. In adult tissues, the distribution of beta III is almost exclusively neuron-specific.
Catalog #T9154-03J
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control Rat brain extract.
Cellular Localization Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

ImmunogenChemically synthesized peptide corresponding to the carboxyl-terminal sequence of human beta-tubulin isotype III conjugated to BSA. Epitope: Specifically recognizes an epitope located on human beta-tubulin (isotype III).
SpecificityMay be used for the localization of isotype III of beta-tubulin using various immunochemical assays. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human, Rat and bovine. Does not crossreact with Chicken.
