| Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. An essential component of microtubules, alpha-tubulin is also a multigene family in many species (1). Familial amyloidosis, British type, is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by progressive dementia, spastic paralysis and ataxia. The identity of the accumulating amyloid is not known, thus preventing the definitive classification of the disease. Findings suggest that the C-terminal fragments of both alpha- and beta-tubulin are closely associated to the amyloid deposits of familial amyloidosis, British type (2). | | | Catalog # | T9155-51 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot.
