Human UCP3 long form (UCP3L) is a 312aa mitochondrial uncoupling protein. It is only 57% and 73% homologous with human UCP1 and UCP2 respectively. Like other UCPs, UCP3 is predicted to contain 6 transmembrane domains. The UCP3S lacks the 6th transmembrane domain and is only 275aa long. UCP3 have preferential expression in muscle and it is unaffected by cold acclimation.

Applications	Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (ECL).
	ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng control peptide/well.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) and aliquot. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
