| Uncoupling Protein 3 (UCP3), human. It is expected that the antibody will recognize both the long and short forms (30–33kD & 24–27kD) however splice variants are expected and precise reactivity profile has yet to be determined. Human UCP3 long form (UCP3L) is a 312 aa mitochondrial uncoupling protein (1,2). It is only 57% and 73% homologous with human UCP1 and UCP2 respectively. Like other UCPs, UCP3 is predicted to contain 6 transmembrane domains. The UCP3S lacks the 6th transmembrane domain and is only 275 aa long (2). UCP3 has preferential expression in muscle and it is unaffected by cold acclimation. | | | Catalog # | U1622-10 | | Applications | Western Blotting: 1–10mg/ml using Chemiluminescence technique. Immunohistochemistry: 2–20mg/ml on formaldehyde fixed tissue. ELISA: (1:10,000–1:100,000 using 50–100ng UCP32 control peptide/well). | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.1% BSA as stabilizer and 0.02% sodium merthiolate | | Purity | Affinity purified Ig | | Immunogen | 14 amino acid peptide sequence (designated UCP32) mapping near the C-terminus of human UCP3 (1) | | Specificity | The UCP32 peptide has no significant homology with UCP1 or UCP2. The antibody has not yet been tested for crossreactivity to other species. The sequence used for immunization shows 93% homology to mouse UCP3. | | | Important Note | This product is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications. |
