| Urotensin II (U-II) is a cyclic heptapeptide that functions both as a potent vasoconstrictor and a neurotransmitter/neuromodulator. U-II circulates in the plasma as a zymogen, and is activated by the urotensin converting enzyme. U-II is the endogenous ligand for the G-protein coupled receptor 14 (GPR14), recently renamed the UT receptor. | | | Catalog # | U2800-01G | | Changes in the expression of U-II and its receptor have been associated with cardiovascular and renal diseases, including atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and diabetic nephropathy. | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunoassays.
