Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic derived from Amycolatopsis orientalis that acts by inhibiting cell wall biosynthesis and altering the permeability of the bacterial cell membrane. Vancomycin is regarded as an antibiotic of last resort as in high doses it can be toxic to the ears and kidneys, whilst in low doses hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Applications	Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
