VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) is a homodimeric protein secreted by a variety of vascularized tissues. VEGF stimulates endothelial cell growth, angiogenesis, and capillary permeability. Murine VEGF is a 39kD homodimeric protein consisting of two 165 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Biological ActivityDetermined by the mitogenic activity on human umbilical vein endothelial cells and bovine aortic endothelial cells. Mitogenic activity was obtained for stimulation of 3H-thymidine incorporation and cell proliferation in a concentration range of 1-5ng/ml.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
