Vitronectin (Serum Spreading Factor, Complement S-Protein) is a plasma protein and a component of the extracellular matrix in many tissues, where it promotes cell adhesion and spreading. Vitronectin also inhibits complement C5b-9-mediated cytolysis and regulates the action of thrombin. Vitronectin contains the cell binding sequence arg gly asp (RGD) and serves as a cell-to-substrate adhesion molecule, (Stefansson, 1996).

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
