| VSIG1 (V-set and Ig domain-containing protein 1; also Glycoprotein 34 and Cell surface antigen 33) is a 55-70kD member of the JAM family of Ig-Superfamily proteins. It shows expression on gastric epithelium and testicular germ cells and likely participates in cell adhesion. Mouse VSIG1 | | | precursor is 407 amino acids in length. It is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that contains a 211aa extracellular domain (ECD) (aa23-234) and a 152aa cytoplasmic region. The ECD contains one V-type (aa23-134) and one C2-type Ig-like domain (aa145-229). Over aa23-234, mouse VSIG1 is 94% and 81% aa identical to rat and human VSIG1, respectively.
