DNA testing is the method of choice for laboratories wishing to produce fast, accurate speciation data. Primerdesign offers multiple solutions for research and applied speciation testing. All of our kits support the detection of low levels of adulterating meat. This is achieved using mitochondrial DNA as a target to enable the highest degree of sensitivity. The new Primerdesign “EASY” and “Advanced” speciation formats contain additional components to help maximize speciation accuracy.
Primerdesign’s Advanced and Easy speciation kits are supplied in a multiplex format enabling both species-specific and universal meat detection in a single well. The relative signals reported by each of these assays produces speciation percentages with minimal well usage. Furthermore, the unique application of a positive control sample as a PCR calibrator allows users to apply recognized relative qPCR calculations to increase the accuracy of their reported results.
