14-3-3 beta, alpha, CT (Protein 1054, Protein Kinase C Inhibitor Protein 1, brain protein 14-3-3, beta Isoform, Tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein, beta polypeptide, protein kinase C inhibitor protein-1) |

Description: Mammals express seven distinct 14-3-3 isoforms (gamma, epsilon, beta, zeta, sigma, theta, tau) that form multiple homo- and hetero- dimers, thus rendering 14-3-3 as a key multifunctional regulatory molecule. 14-3-3 isomers have been implicated in several neurological disorders: for example isoforms gamma, epsilon and beta are expressed in the cerebrospinal fluid of Creutzfeldt-Jakob patients, but not patients suffering from other neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's. The 14-3-3 beta antibody is one of a panel of antibodies that were generated against 14-3-3 isoforms and have demonstrated their potential for use as an ELISA-based diagnostic tool. These antibodies will allow the research to investigate the role of this protein in key cellular processes and neurological disorders such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:40 Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:500 Immunocytochemistry: 1:500 Immunoprecipitation: 1:40 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: HeLa cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
