BAF57 (SMARCE1, FLJ35648, SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily E member 1, BRG1-associated factor 57)
Description:
BAF57 is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SWI/SNF, which is required for activation of proteins normally repressed by chromatin. It, either alone or when in the SWI/SNF complex, can bind to 4-way junction DNA, which is thought to mimic the topology of DNA as it enters or exits the nucleosome. BAF57 contains a DNA-binding HMG domain, but disruption of this domain does not abolish the DNA-binding or nucleosome-displacement activities of the SWI/SNF complex. Unlike most of the SWI/SNF complex proteins, BAF57 has no yeast counterpart (1).

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-250
Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-250
Immunoprecipitation: 1:10-100

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
