Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) is an important member of the nerve growth factor (NGF) family of proteins behind BDNF and NGF. It is thought to promote the survival or differentiation of existing and new neurons in the central nervous system and synapses. These functions are thought to be communicated by TrkC, a receptor tryrosine kinase thought induce NT-3- specific signaling. In addition, NT-3 is thought to also bind TrkB and low affinity nerve growth factor receptor (LNGFR).

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
