CD156c is an endopeptidase which has a role in metalloprotease activity and cell-cell matrix interaction. It is responsible for the proteolytic release of several other cell-surface proteins, including TNFa, heparin binding epidermal growth-like factor, ephrin-A2 and CD171. CD156c is also involved in the constitutive and regulated a-secretase cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and contributes to the normal cleavage of the cellular prion protein.

CD156c is broadly expressed in range of cells and tissues including leukocytes, tumor cells, articular chondrocyes, and in tissue of the spleen, lymph node, thymus, bone marrow, brain and cartilage.

Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin), and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:5,000-1:20,000
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1-5ug/ml
Western Blot: 1:500-1:2,000
Immunofluorescence: 1:250-1:1,000
Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
