APBA2 (Amyloid beta A4 Precursor Protein-binding Family A Member 2, Adapter Protein X11beta, Neuron-specific X11L Protein, Neuronal Munc18-1-interacting Protein 2, Mint-2, MINT2, X11L)
APBA2 anomalously at 130-135kD the cytoplasmic domain of transmembrane APP. This precludes its entry into lipid rafts, where it begins formation of AB following cleaved by BACE. Human APBA2 is 749aa in length. It contains one phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domain aa366-533 plus two PDZ domains aa568-734. Over aa221-250, there is an APP interaction site that contains a key phosphorylation site at 238aa. There are two potential splice forms, one that shows a deletion of aa406-417, and a second that contains a 44aa substitution for aa170-214. Over aa1-165, human APBA2 shares 85% aa identity with mouse APBA2.

Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
