APP (Amyloid beta A4 Protein, ABPP, APPI, APP, Alzheimer Disease Amyloid Protein, Cerebral Vascular Amyloid Peptide, CVAP, PreA4, Protease Nexin-II, PN-II, A4, AD1)
Description:
The amyloid precursor protein (APP) is a large membrane protein whose C-terminus projects into the extracellular space. In Alzheimer's disease this protein is broken down, and releases the 42 AA beta amyloid protein that is found in senile plaques and vessels.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and immunoblotting. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.01M PBS, pH 7.2. Reconstitute in ddH2O to 1mg/ml.
Specificity:
Recognizes the C-terminal of beta amyloid peptide 42 and full length beta amyloid peptide 42. Species Crossreactivity: mouse, rat, other primates. Does not cross react with beta amyloid peptide 40.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
