Antibiotic A23187 is a calcium ionophore. It causes rapid influx of calcium in various cells across biological membranes. Appearance: Off white solid Melting Point: 181-182°C Purity: 98% (TLC) Solubility: Soluble in DMSO (50mg/ml with sonication) Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for up to 12 months. Solutions should be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
