ARFGAP3 (ADP-ribosylation Factor GTPase-activating Protein 3, ARF GAP 3, ARFGAP1)
Description:
ARFGAP3 is an GTPase-activating protein (GAP) probably for ARF1. This protein may be involved in protein secretion and/or vesicle transport. It likely participates in promoting hydrolysis of the ARF1-bound GTP and thus, may be required for the dissociation of coat proteins from Golgi-derived membranes and vesicles, a prerequisite for vesicle's fusion with target compartment. Like other ARFGAPs, its activity is sensitive to phospholipids. Location is cytoplasmic, concentrated in the perinuclear region. Highest expression occurs in the endocrine glands (pancreas, pituary gland, salivary gland, and prostate) and testis with a much higher expression in the testis than in the ovary. ARFGAP3 is expressed at higher level in adult thymus, brain and lung, than in corresponding fetal tissues. It is expressed at lower level in spleen, heart, kidney and liver during development.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:8000
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, mouse brain extracts observed on ~55-60kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
