Aureothin, an unusual pyranone metabolite, has broad biological actions including antitumor, antimicrobial and insecticidal activities. Aureothin acts by inhibition of oxidoreductase. More recently Aureothin has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of Helicobacter pylori. Purity: >95% by HPLC Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO.
