Description: Avidin, synthesized in the hen oviduct, is a glycoprotein of MW 68,000 daltons which occupies about 0.05% of the total protein content of the hen egg white. Native avidin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits. Each subunit is glycosylated at 17-Asparagine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:2000-1:20,000 Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
