Avidin (Fluorescein) |
|
|
Description: Avidin, synthesized in the hen oviduct, is a glycoprotein of MW 68,000 daltons which occupies about 0.05% of the total protein content of the hen egg white. Native avidin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: >1:20,000 Western Blot: >1:10,000 Immunofluorescence: 1:500-1:2500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Absorption Wavelength: 495nm Emission Wavelength: 528nm Fluorochrome/Protein Ratio: 3.0 moles Fluorescein/mole Rabbit IgG Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Fluorescein conjugates are sensitive to light. |
