Avidin (Fluorescein)
Avidin, synthesized in the hen oviduct, is a glycoprotein of MW 68,000 daltons which occupies about 0.05% of the total protein content of the hen egg white. Native avidin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits.

Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunofluorescence, and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilution:
FLISA: >1:20,000
Western Blot: >1:10,000
Immunofluorescence: 1:500-1:2500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Absorption Wavelength: 495nm

Emission Wavelength: 528nm

Fluorochrome/Protein Ratio:
3.0 moles Fluorescein/mole Rabbit IgG

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Fluorescein conjugates are sensitive to light.

Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 10mg/ml BSA (IgG and protease free). 0.01% sodium azide. Labeled with Fluorescein.
Recognizes chicken Avidin. Assay by IEP resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and Avidin.
