Description: Axl (also known as ARK, UFO and TYR07) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that contains extracellular regions composed of two IgG-related domains linked to two fibronectin type III repeats. Gas6, a ligand for Axl, induces Axl phosphorylation on multiple tyrosine residues. Phosphorylation of Axl at Tyr779 is associated with the activation of PI 3-kinase. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml detects Axl in Wl38 human lung cell line conditioned media-treated A172 human glioblastoma cell line. Immunocytochemistry: 5-15ug/ml detects Axl in immersion fixed A172 human glioblastoma cell line with and without pervanadate co-staining with total Axl. Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml detects Axl in immersion fixed paraffin embedded sections of human stomach. Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-39: IgG, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb I1904-40A: IgG, H&L, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb I1904-46Q: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
