Human BAFF (for B cell activating factor belonging to the TNF family) is a newly discovered novel ligand of the TNF family. BAFF plays an important role as costimulator of B cell proliferation and function. Recombinant Human BAFF is a soluble 17kD protein containing 153 amino acid residues, comprising the TNF-like extra-celluar domain of BAFF. Biological Activity: Assay#1: Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production by Human PBMC (Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells). The ED50 for this effect is 5-10ng/ml. Please Note: Results may vary with PBMC donors. Assay#2: Determined by a mouse splenocyte survival assay. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.5-2.0ug/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA |
Source: E. coli Purity: 95% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Form: Supplied as a sterile filtered, lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.5, 0.5 DTT. Reconstitute in dH2O to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml.
