Description: BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes. Recombinant Human BCA-1 is a 10.1 D protein containing 85 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines. ELISA: To detect hBCA-1 by direct ELISA (using 100µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBCA-1. Western Blot: To detect hBCA-1 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hBCA-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Reconstitution: The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at- 20°C. When reconstituted in sterile water to a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml the antibody is stable for at least six weeks at 2-4°C. Country of Origin: USA |
