Technical Data
BCAS1 (Breast Carcinoma Amplified Sequence 1)
A novel gene, BCAS1 is implicated in breast cancer development. Breast tumor lines that harbor amplification of the cancer-related amplicon 20q13.2 display high levels of the BCAS1 protein compared to normal human fibroblasts or a breast cancer line that does not overexpress the BCAS1 mRNA.

Suitable for use in Western Blotting. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blotting: 1:500-1:1000

Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Residues 532-550 [DTNSLQNGDKLQKRPEKRQ] of human NABC1.
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.02% sodium azide.
Reacts with residues 532-550 [DTNSLQNGDKLQKRPEKRQ] of human BCAS1. BCAS1 is a 60kD protein; however it forms dimers, which are readily detectable in MCF-7 cells. Reactivity to other species unknown.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
