Recombinant Human beta-defensin-2
(BD-2) is an antimicrobial peptide which belongs to the distinct family of beta-defensins. Recent studies have shown that the beta-defensins are present in the human airways. It may be relevant to the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis lung disease. Recombinant Human BD-2 is a 4.3kD protein containing 41 amino acid residues.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile acetic acid, aliquot and store at -20C. Stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
