Recombinant Human beta-defensin-2 (BD-2) is an antimicrobial peptide which belongs to the distinct family of beta-defensins. Recent studies have shown that the beta-defensins are present in the human airways. It may be relevant to the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis lung disease. Recombinant Human BD-2 is a 4.3kD protein containing 41 amino acid residues. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile acetic acid, aliquot and store at -20°C. Stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA Molecular Weight: 4.3kD |
