BD4 (beta Defensin-4) |
|
|
Description: Defensin beta 4 (BD4), a secreted cationic antimicrobial peptide and member of the beta-defensin family, highly expressed in the testis, which plays an important role in innate immunity. Studies have shown that the expression of BD-4 is up-regulated in respiratory epithelial cells, following infection by both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and that BD-4 acts in synergy with lysozyme and BD-3. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5- 2ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1- 0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
