BTC (Betacellulin) is a member of the EGF family of growth factors and contains 1 EGF-like domain. It is synthesized primarily as a transmembrane precursor, which is then processed to mature molecule by proteolytic events. This protein is a ligand for the EGF receptor. The effects of BTC are probably mediated by the EGF receptor and other related receptors. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa32-111 from human BTC, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E.coli. AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MDGNSTRSPE TNGLLCGDPE ENCAATTTQS KRKGHFSRCP KQYKHYCIKG RCRFVVAEQT PSCVCDEGYI GARCERVDLF Y Molecular Weight: ~11.3kD (MALDI-TOF) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: ~11.3kD |
