BMAL1 (MOP3, Members of PAS Superfamily, Brain And Muscle ARNT-like 1, JAP3, PAS3, CYCLE)
MOP3 (BMAL1), a general dimerization partner for a subset of the bHLH-PAS (basic-helix-loop-helix-PER-ARNT-SIM) superfamily of transcription regulators, is involved in circadian rhythm generation. MOP3 interacts with MOP4, CLOCK, hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha and -2 alpha. This interaction appears to be distinct from that of the more characterized general partner, ARNT (HIF-1 beta).

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml using 1ug/ml
Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml using ECL.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes drosophila BMAL1. The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with mammalian Clock or Per proteins. Significant homology is seen with mammalian USFs (Upstream Stimulatory Factors 1 and 2) and human and mouse BMAL1 and ARNTs.
